Program Description Geoff Kaufman has been presenting educational programs and concerts for almost 30 years. His blending of history and song adds a new dimension of learning to such topics as the Civil War, Amistad, and whaling, to name just a few. Kaufman also lends his songs to teaching about the natural environment.
Participants can choose from the following programs:
History:
*The Civil War Through Song
*Echoes of Amistad
*Of Ships and Captains and History in Song
*Singing Westward Ho
*Whales and Whaling

Environment:
*Music of the Waters
*Tree of Life
*Nature's Meanings

Maritime:
*Folk Song Companion to Maritime Literature & History
*Songs of the Sea
Program Format Students will enjoy learning about various aspects of history or the environment through music.
Students will be encouraged to sing along during the program.
Objectives Participants will:
- explore the historic/environmental basis for songs
- understand the lasting popularity of music through the ages
- learn about historic events through song
