Through an extensive visual tour and discussion, Mr. Olson will showcase various aspects of his work and give students a rare glimpse into the creative process of one of the America's most prolific painters. Since 1976, Mr. Olson's celebrated paintings have been shown globally in museums, galleries, corporations and university collections. His teaching and his work has inspired countless students over the past 30 years at Saint Francis University. Olson's teaching and paintings have been honored and awarded on numerous occasions including the Harry Schwalb Award of Excellence in Visual Arts. Charles Olson is the current the chairman of the Fine Arts Department at Saint Francis University. A short list of his honors includes :- Who’s Who in American Art 1999-2000, 2004-2005-“Pittsburgh Magazine” and WQED-TV (PBS) Harry Schwalb Award of Excellence in Visual Arts 2001-2002-Indiana University of Pennsylvania Distinguished Alumni 2001-Distinguished Faculty Award Saint Francis Alumni Association 1996- Swatsworth Faculty Award Recipient Saint Francis University 2004- National Honor Society Distinguished Faculty Award Saint Francis University 2005 During the session, participants will also have the opportunity to interact and ask questions. Community Videoconferencing Program


Student Created Community Content Contest
Organize a team of middle or high school students and create an engaging and dynamic videoconference content program about your community to be offered to classrooms nationally. This standards based project seeks to tap into the creative nature of students as they look at their community with new eyes and explore ways to share their findings with others using videoconferencing and technology as a resource.
