Grade: K-12 Holiday Traditions Conference

Hello All,
It is that time of the year again, the time to start planning and preparing for the Holiday Traditions Conference. The past two years have been huge successes thanks mostly to your participation. This year we are hoping for even more presentations.

In the hopes of attracting more presentations from our friends overseas, we will accommodate them by having extended hours, from 7am-7pm EST.

This year the conference will be held on Friday, December 14th. Please go to our site (http://www.holidaytraditionsconference.com) to register you presentations. Registration will remain open until November 30, 2007. Remember to be original when designing your presentation. We hope to not have to cut any presentations, but if we do, we will keep the most original and unique presentations.

If you have any question please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to doing this every year. I’m looking forward to another great year!

Greetings (and apologies for cross-posting)!It's time to start networking with videoconferencing colleagues for projects and events this school year.Start your year off by registering for TWICE's new Collaborations Around the Planet. "The more people you know, the more videoconferences you can do!"Collaborations Around the Planet is a large scale global directory and professional network of educators for videoconferencing project collaboration. TWICE, in partnership with Polycom, created this tool on the new registration database for Read Around the Planet ( www.twice.cc/read/). TWICE is Michigan's K12 videoconferenceorganization.While the site is hosted by TWICE, the tool is open to and designed for all educators using videoconferencing, just like Read Around the Planet. There are two URLs for the website:http://projects.twice.cc/www.polycom.com/education/PCATPRegister for a new account. Or, if you participated in Read Around the Planet 2007, use the Forgot Password link to reactivate your account. Add websites to your profile, a picture of yourself, and click My Projects to check offbig videoconference events you've participated in to receive badges & stars next to your name. Grade 7-12: WVIZ Distance Learning Presentation: "Student Voting and Voter Information"

The Office of the Secretary of State is responsible for overseeing the elections in the state of Ohio. Gladys Harrison, from the Secretary of State’s office, will be in the Idea Center to provide your students with a wealth of information including registering to vote, how to vote, absentee voting, student absentee voting, where to vote, etc.

Join us for this educational opportunity aimed at helping your students prepare to cast their vote in their first election.

Schools are invited to bring students to the Idea Center or interact via a distance learning connection. Seating is limited to 150 students. Seats will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.

Distance Learning Transmission Modes: NOTA, eTech/Ohio IP and ATM

Reservations are limited to 40 remote sites. Students will interact with our guest via email.
