On the Friday after Labor Day, several nationally known storytellers, including West Virginia's award winning Bil Lepp, will be joining regional and local storytellers in Chillicothe, Ohio for the 4th annual Southern Ohio Storytelling Festival. If you can't attend the festival with your school, you can attend via a videoconference connection. Bill Lepp is returning for his third appearance at the festival. Donald Davis from North Carolina comes with tales from growing up in the Appalachian Mountains. Barbara McBride-Smith, author of several books and tapes, is nationally known for her post-modern folk tales. Barbara Freeman Eady specializes in African-American folk tales and fables. Tim Tingle is a member of the Oklahoma Choctaw tribe that is a sought-after speaker and storyteller, and an award-winning author of Native American fiction and folklore.
