Holocaust Videoconference

On Friday, May 16, 2008, from 1:00-2:15pm EST, the Eastchester Union Free School District and the Westchester Holocaust Education Center will host a multi-point videoconference on the Holocaust for teachers and students at the middle school level.

The conference will feature Holocaust survivors Ms. Clara Knopfler and Mr. Alan Moskin. Ms. Knopfler, an Auschwitz survivor and Mr. Moskin, a concentration camp liberator, are both frequent speakers on the Holocaust. They will offer their perspectives on the Holocaust, its relationship to the “human spirit” and will field questions from the conference participants. The conference will be moderated by Andrew Cahn, Regional Museum Educator for United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Participation is available to four middle school level (grades 6-8) sites, on a first-come, first served basis. There is no fee for this event, but an IP connection is required to connect to the bridge. Please contact John Blaser via email (jblaser@eastchester.k12.ny.us) to reserve a slot. Once participation is confirmed, a test call will be scheduled with each site.
