COSI View Only Availability Knee Surgery Program

Our Surgical Suite: Total Knee Replacement program has been very popular this year and we have decided to add a few view only spots to our calendar in order to accommodate the high demand. View only videoconferencing sites will still receive the kit of materials along with being able to see and hear the videoconference, they just will not have the opportunity to ask questions. The cost of a view only program will be $205, which is $50 less than the interactive price.

We currently have a couple view only openings for our upcoming Surgical Suite: Total Knee Replacement program on:
Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 8:45am ET and 11:00am ET

********Surgical Suite (grades 6-12)*********
Watch a live total knee replacement surgery via videoconference! Students will be given a powerful learning experience by interacting with the surgeons and medical personnel in the operating room. Students will receive an information guide on knee surgery and the careers associated with the operating room.

Teachers receive an information packet and materials for pre- and post-experience activities for the classroom. The kit includes enough materials for 30 students. Appropriate for grades 6-12. Adult and community groups welcome.

About our Free On-line Programs:

Lilly partnered with the Central Indiana Educational Service Center (CIESC) and public educators to develop the following on-line programs.
· The Epidemic Challenge: You Be The Detective
· Chemistry is a Blast On-line

All program materials are aligned to Indiana State and National educational standards and were developed for Middle and High School educators to supplement their curriculum. The program includes downloadable teacher guides with hands-on classroom activities, educator materials, and corresponding video segments. To learn more about these programs and access program materials visit the CIESC website at www.ciesc.k12.in.us/lilly.htm. Additionally, you will find a virtual drug discovery tour called "The Future Begins Yesterday" which is a good resource for students to learn about scientific career opportunities.

If you use either of the on-line programs, we ask that you take 5 minutes to complete an evaluation. Completing the evaluation lets us know if these programs are valuable and if we should develop more on-line programs.

Should you have any questions concerning our programs, please feel free to contact me at 317-276-0384 or via e-mail at off_debbie@lilly.com.
