Internet Safety Videoconference


Free videoconference on Internet Safety
Free Sexual Predator Video Conference
Presented by the OSBA Insurance Trust
and the Westerville Police Department
OSBA will be broadcasting a free presentation by the Westerville Police Department live from Westerville's Central High School on October 17th from 6-9pm. The presentation will be available via eTech Ohio's video conferencing bridge, as well as streamed online through the OSBA web site.
Westerville PD will demonstrate live the dangers of online chat communities and social sites - showing how easy children can be taken advantage of - and offer tips for safe practices while online.
Plan now to rally your community to watch this live distance learning broadcast in your district. Districts, ESCs and ITC are encouraged to host this presentation. Registration for this event can occur on the eTech website.

Join us for the first of the fall series of free interactive video conference professional
development workshops for teachers, librarians, curriculum coordinators, guidance
counselors, and technology coordinators. CEU certificates will be provided.
TRAILS

The Tool for Real-Time Assessment of Information Literacy Skills (TRAILS)
is an online tool which can be used to measure students' information seeking
abilities. It is a free. online test of multiple-choice questions assessing a
variety of information literacy skills appropriate for high school students.
The assessment is funded by ILILE.
Participants will learn how to create and manage an online account on
theTRAILS site and how the assessments and their results can be used to
help plan and evaluate collaborative lessons aligned with content standards.
Hear others discuss their uses of the tests as well.

IVDL Virtual College Tour

Who: Six Colleges – Tentatively:
BGSU, OSU, Kent State, University of Cincinnati, Miami University, LCCC

When: Tuesday, November 20th, 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Where: Via your IVDL system.

Program Information

Have your students visit with colleges from around the state via your IVDL system. On November 20th, students from Lorain County will visit with admissions officers to discover the course offerings, campus environment, and benefits of attending at several universities. Each 45-minute session will include a short overview of the campus, the programs available, and other related information to attending the college. Time will be provided for questions and answers so that students may ask specific questions.

Hi Everyone
It is time again for our annual Henkel Duct Tape Competition. Attached is the information for the project. Please review closely there has been a few changes. Henkel was Henkel Adhesives. It is now just Henkel. Additional changes have been made to the rules. Also there is an area in red that you need to put your regional competition information and make sure that Columbiana is not the contact when you send out the information. If you have any questions please let me know. The deadline for the regional winners to be submitted is Monday, December 3rd.
